Set in the heart of Port Macquarie, the Glasshouse offers a world of cultural experience, modern technical facilities and flexible venues for performance, leisure and hire.
Comprising a 594-seat theatre, rehearsal and performance studio, an international-standard regional gallery, conference facilities, heritage displays and a tourism information centre, the Glasshouse is the pre-eminent performance and exhibition arts facility in the region.
We assisted the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to upgrade the Glasshouse’s website in order to improve its digital offering to the community, particularly the growing number of people accessing the website from mobile devices.
The new website moved from a poorly supported open-source content management system (CMS) to align with the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s website, built around a robust enterprise-grade platform.
We were involved in the project across all stages, from strategic planning and design through to development and implementation. Throughout this process we paid great attention to the website’s user interface design, to reflect the excitement of the events and programs provided by the Glasshouse. The website’s vibrant design style serves to enhance the perception of the Glasshouse as an industry leader, and align its website and public-facing marketing with the quality of the facility.
Start of the art responsive technology and extensive accessibility development ensure that the website is not only visually engaging, but performs across a full range of devices, from desktop to tablet to mobile, as wall as meeting relevant accessibility standards to cater for website users with special needs.
Additional social media integration with both Facebook and Instagram further increases the reach and visibility of the facilities offerings to all areas of the local and national stage.
